PowerPoint Extract Images etc.

If you have a presentation with music, images or video and no longer have access to the original media file then you might want to extract the files from the presentation.

Before version 2010 it was possible to save as html, create a folder of dependant files and then wade through them looking for the media. In 2010 though the option to save as html has been removed making this more difficult.

The html method also did not extract the original file. For example if you insert a picture, recolor and add a shadow the image recovered would be recolored and shadowed NOT the original image used.

PPTXtract

This is an AddIn for PowerPoint 2007 - 2016 on PCs only that can extract and catalogue for easy use, embedded sounds, video and images. With images BOTH the original and the current view can be extracted.

PPTXtract can also extract your notes and neatly type them out in WORD and if there are comments type out a copy in Word including the author and date entered.

Linked Files

If you have linked media files then of course you should have access to them on your PC. If you are neat in your work they will be easy to find!. Just in case though PPTXtract can copy them all to a common, easy to find folder along with the embedded files.
