Make PowerPoint Action Buttons That Are NOT Rectangular Why would you want this? Well suppose you had a map and you wanted an action button to trigger an action and that button should be shaped like one of the countries. You could just draw a shape with the freeform tools but it would not have the "Button Depress" anim ation that Action Buttons have. BUT Action Buttons are all rectangular, right? Well in 2007 you can fix this! it won't work in earlier versions but the adapted button will work if opened in 2003/2. Add the button Simply add a standard "blank" Action Button and add the action. Now go to Format > Change Shape > Convert to Freeform. Right click > Edit Points. It should look like this ....
Now you can reshape the button by dragging points, adding and deleting points or selecting a point and adjusting the Bezier handles.
With a little practise you can make any shape and the "Depress" animation is retained when the button is clicked.
