Add the Pickup and Apply Tools (2007)

The pick up and apply tools are very useful but don't appear in the PowerPoint 2007 ribbon. They can be used to pickup a style , store it while the program is open and apply it anywhere you wish. Later we will show you how to use it to highlight text!

In 2007 you cannot easily add to the ribbon but you can add to the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar).

Use the dropdown arrow right of the QAT and choose more commands. A new dialogue will open at "popular commands" (to add) but Pickup and Apply are not there! Change to "Commands Not In Ribbon" and locate and add Apply Style.

Repeat this adding PickUp Style.

Now select a shape or text, click Pick Up Style to copy the style and at any time use Apply Style to apply it to another shape or text. Unlike the format painter the style is not lost when you use other tools. Very Useful.
